All About Me!!!!

I was born in Weslaco, Texas on April 10th, delivered by the same doctor that delivered my dad. Stayed in Weslaco until I was 6mos. then we moved to Chicago Heights which is where my mom  is from. Weslaco is between McAllen and Brownsville Texas incase you were wondering where that was. Then I lived in Chicago Heights until I was 3yrs old and moved to Crown Point, Ind and lived there until I was 6yrs old. We then moved to Arlington, Texas and have been here ever since then. I come from a mixed race family. My mom is Irish, German, Dutch, English, and Cherokee, my dad is Mexican. So, I was raced in both worlds which makes me feel very well rounded. I always remember  hearing people saying who is that white girl??? I would get mad and say I am mexican too, then they would say "oh,oh that is cool" Whatever....My dad's family use to work out in the fields picking fruit and I remember running in the strawberry fields. So, whenever I hear that song by the Beatles Strawberry Fields...it always reminds me of when I was running up and down the strawberry fields in my overalls and barefoot. Good times. People always give me crap for me not knowing spanish but my dad never taught me. What can I say???? Then I always seem like I am in the middle....I am white/Mexican, I was raised both in the north and the south. (I use to spend my summers in Chicago and school days in Arlington) So, I say that I was raised in both places. I call Arlington and Chicago my homes. Also, I always seem to freak everyone out when they find out that I am from Texas because they always tell me that I don't sound like it...I sound like I am from somewhere else. I don't have a Texan accent. I also call sodas..pop or I say "You guys" instead of "Yall". The only Texan thing I do say is "I am fixin to go do something." So instead of saying "I am about to" I say "I am fixin". But other than that I sound like a northern and I always get crazy looks from Texans. I guess you can say I am unique in my own special way. I have a younger sister that is 8yrs younger than me because I was suppose to be the only child but that didn't work out. We get along great. I can see alot of stuff that she does that I have influenced her and that makes me feel good. My family loves cats because they last longer with us. We don't have good luck with dogs at all. They always get some kind of disease and die on us. I dated my husband for 11yrs before we got married. Now we have been married for 2yrs and we are still going strong. People are amazed that we still have the chemistry after all of these years. We have 5 cats. We just bought a house back in December. So, that is the scoop on me!!!!!
